Als onderdeel van de stichting Student en Leefstijl hebben wij \u00e9\u00e9n doel: het uitbreiden van kennis omtrent voeding en leefstijl onder geneeskunde en paramedische studenten. Zo kunnen zij deze kennis toepassen in de praktijk van de toekomst en hun pati\u00ebnten vanuit deze (vaak nog onderbelichte) hoek helpen.
Daarnaast willen wij voeding en leefstijl een belangrijke plaats in het geneeskunde onderwijs geven.

Het lokale bestuur in Amsterdam zet zich momenteel in voor beide geneeskunde faculteiten in Amsterdam (locaties AMC en VUmc), maar hoe zorgt Student en Leefstijl Amsterdam voor deze verspreiding van kennis?

Op de voorgrond zijn wij bezig met het opzetten van de jaarlijkse SELF-cursus, ook wel: Students Experienced in Lifestyle and Food. In deze 8 tot 10-weekse cursus worden verschillende onderwerpen omtrent voeding en leefstijl besproken. Per onderwerp worden gespecialiseerde gastsprekers uitgenodigd om op deze manier up-to-date, interessant en leerzaam onderwijs te waarborgen. Onderwerpen die aan de orde zullen komen in de cursus zijn o.a. verslaving, het (on)geboren kind, slaap, di\u00ebtetiek, het darmmicrobioom en mentaal welbevinden. We hopen de toekomstige (para)medici met deze cursus zo te prikkelen dat zij later leefstijl als medicijn gaan inzetten.

Bovendien zijn wij achter de schermen ook druk bezig! Want hoewel de cursus altijd erg interessant en goed bezocht is, is het nog wel extra-curriculair. Bij Student en Leefstijl zijn wij van mening dat de onderwerpen die hier aan bod komen een eigen plekje verdienen in de curricula. Wij zetten ons dan ook in voor de implementatie van voeding- en leefstijlonderwijs. Op dit moment doen wij dat in de geneeskunde faculteiten. Hiervan zijn de eerste effecten al merkbaar. Zo kunnen de studenten op locatie VUmc extra-curriculaire cursussen binnen de leerlijn leefstijl volgen bij SpringLab. Deze cursussen worden, onder toezicht van medische experts, door student-assistenten ontwikkeld, voorbereid en gegeven. De studenten op locatie AMC hebben nu de mogelijkheid om het vak \u2018Diometer\u2019 te volgen. Een vak waarin voeding en leefstijl centraal staan.<\/p>\n

Dit zijn stappen in de goede richting, maar we zijn er nog lang niet.

Als onderdeel van de stichting Student en Leefstijl hebben wij \u00e9\u00e9n doel: het uitbreiden van kennis omtrent voeding en leefstijl onder geneeskunde en paramedische studenten. Zo kunnen zij deze kennis toepassen in de praktijk van de toekomst en hun pati\u00ebnten vanuit deze (vaak nog onderbelichte) hoek helpen.
Daarnaast willen wij voeding en leefstijl een belangrijke plaats in het geneeskunde onderwijs geven.

Het lokale bestuur in Amsterdam zet zich momenteel in voor beide geneeskunde faculteiten in Amsterdam (locaties AMC en VUmc), maar hoe zorgt Student en Leefstijl Amsterdam voor deze verspreiding van kennis?

Op de voorgrond zijn wij bezig met het opzetten van de jaarlijkse SELF-cursus, ook wel: Students Experienced in Lifestyle and Food. In deze 8 tot 10-weekse cursus worden verschillende onderwerpen omtrent voeding en leefstijl besproken. Per onderwerp worden gespecialiseerde gastsprekers uitgenodigd om op deze manier up-to-date, interessant en leerzaam onderwijs te waarborgen. Onderwerpen die aan de orde zullen komen in de cursus zijn o.a. verslaving, het (on)geboren kind, slaap, di\u00ebtetiek, het darmmicrobioom en mentaal welbevinden. We hopen de toekomstige (para)medici met deze cursus zo te prikkelen dat zij later leefstijl als medicijn gaan inzetten.

Bovendien zijn wij achter de schermen ook druk bezig! Want hoewel de cursus altijd erg interessant en goed bezocht is, is het nog wel extra-curriculair. Bij Student en Leefstijl zijn wij van mening dat de onderwerpen die hier aan bod komen een eigen plekje verdienen in de curricula. Wij zetten ons dan ook in voor de implementatie van voeding- en leefstijlonderwijs. Op dit moment doen wij dat in de geneeskunde faculteiten. Hiervan zijn de eerste effecten al merkbaar. Zo kunnen de studenten op locatie VUmc extra-curriculaire cursussen binnen de leerlijn leefstijl volgen bij SpringLab. Deze cursussen worden, onder toezicht van medische experts, door student-assistenten ontwikkeld, voorbereid en gegeven. De studenten op locatie AMC hebben nu de mogelijkheid om het vak \u2018Diometer\u2019 te volgen. Een vak waarin voeding en leefstijl centraal staan.<\/p>

Dit zijn stappen in de goede richting, maar we zijn er nog lang niet.
